Cypress Social and Petit & Keet Extend a Helping Hand to 'We Are the 22' on Veterans Day

Staff and leadership from Cypress Social and Petit & Keet celebrate their donation to the organization We Are The 22.

Veterans Day is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served our nation. It's a day to honor their courage, resilience, and dedication. Amidst this commemoration, Cypress Social and Petit & Keet stepped forward to host two special events, raising $3006 for the  organization 'We Are the 22.'

'We Are the 22' operates as a beacon of hope in the battle against veteran suicide. With a profound focus on direct intervention, this groundbreaking organization stands at the ready, 24/7, to respond in person to Arkansas veterans amid a suicidal crisis. Their mission is to provide unwavering peer support and to seamlessly connect these veterans with the crucial help they urgently need. Armed with specialized training in ASIST, SafeTalk, and additional in-house expertise, the Veteran Suicide Response teams at 'We Are the 22' are equipped to address these crises head-on. But their most distinctive trait lies in their immediate action: upon notification of a veteran in crisis within the state of Arkansas, these responders drop everything and rush to the aid of that veteran.

Mikel Brooks, the Founder and President behind 'We Are the 22,' has a military background spanning over a decade; Mikel intimately understands the challenges veterans face post-service. His own experiences fuel a passion to make a tangible difference. Through 'We Are the 22,' Mikel has created a lifeline for veterans in crisis, pioneering a direct intervention model that's reshaping how we approach mental health in the veteran community. His leadership guides the organization toward its noble goal of eradicating the tragic statistic of 22 veterans lost to suicide each day.

Today, Mikel and his team have saved almost 500 veterans in Arkansas. Cypress Social and Petit & Keet are thankful for organizations like 'We are the 22' who continue to make a difference in Arkansas.
